WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Scholarships are open to Delaware educators and administrators who are committed to improving K12 education in Delaware. Applicants must:
- Be employed in Delaware during the upcoming school year.
- Be willing to share program information and insights with colleagues in their school, district, or institution.
Scholarship recipients must also agree to:
- Grant the Harvard Club of Delaware permission to publish their names and comments.
- Respond to a Harvard Club of Delaware survey to provide feedback about their experience and ways to improve the scholarship program.
- Participate in sharing knowledge gained from the program with other educators
WHAT IS THE TIMELINE?
- The committee meets twice a year to make decisions on Scholarships (early December and mid-March). You will receive a decision by email within two weeks of their review.

HOW MANY SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE?
Each individual may use the HCD scholarship for only one program per fiscal year (July -June). However, schools, districts, or higher education institutions may apply to sponsor teams for one or more programs within the same fiscal year.
I have received the scholarship before. Can I apply again?
Yes, you are welcome to re-apply. In your application, please describe how you applied your learning from the earlier program and how this new program will help you continue that momentum in your local context.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

Complete the Request More Information form. A Professional Education team member will follow up within a week to learn about your professional development needs and share eligible programs.
Work with the Professional Education team to identify the program(s) that best fit your goals.
Once you've confirmed your program choice with the Professional Education team, they will send you the scholarship application form. Submit it for review by the HCD Scholarship Committee.

WHAT DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP COVER?
If you are selected and admitted by the HGSE, the Harvard Club of Delaware will provide for hotel accommodations and tuition. The Harvard Club of Delaware does not cover transportation or food costs.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Interested applicants must apply through initially through the Harvard GSE website (see link above).
- If selected and admitted by the HGSE, the Harvard Club of Delaware will provide hotel stay and tuition.
- Transportation and food allowance are not provided.
DOES APPLYING AS A GROUP MATTER?
Sometimes a program requires team participation. In addition, the Harvard Club of Delaware tries to prioritize group applications.

WHAT ARE THE APPLICATION ESSAYS?
Applicants are required to write two essays. One essay focuses on explaining how participation in the program will benefit you and the challenges you face. A second essay focus on how your experience and perspective will contribute to the program's learning environment.
