The Harvard Club of Delaware (HCD) offers scholarships for Delaware educators to attend summer institutes at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). Program offerings take place June–August. To date, more than 500 teachers, principals and other school leaders have taken advantage of the scholarship program.
Who is Eligible
Scholarships are available to Delaware educators and administrators currently working at public, private or parochial K–12 schools, who reasonably expect that they will be working in Delaware for the following school year and who are willing to share course information and experiences with others in their school or district.
Scholarship recipients must agree to grant the Harvard Club of Delaware the right to republish participant names and comments from program materials. Recipients are expected to participate in efforts to share the value of the institute to other educators and provide feedback to the Harvard Club of Delaware on what improvements can be made to the HCD Scholarship Program.
The HCD Scholarship covers the program fee and hotel accomodataions for educators up to the level of Assistant Principal (The Club will cover administrator hotel costs if they are the coordinator of a team of 3 or more from the same school or program). The scholarship does not include any other expenses incurred—transportation, meals, sundries or medical expenses—that are not included in the institute program fee or room expense. The Harvard Club of Delaware does not assume any liability resulting from an applicant's acceptance and participation in an institute.
